CHARITY
Throughout his career, Sir Steve Redgrave has remained committed to supporting charitable causes and giving back to communities across the UK and beyond. From fundraising campaigns and ambassadorial roles to championing health, youth and sport initiatives, Sir Steve continues to use his platform to make a positive and lasting impact.

LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD
After receiving the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001, Sir Steve Redgrave became actively involved with Laureus’ charitable endeavours, sitting on the Executive Committee and supporting the Sport for Good charity. Through Sport for Good, Steve supports projects using sport to tackle violence, discrimination and disadvantage worldwide. Steve has visited community programmes across the globe, including a Foundation of Goodness sports project in Sri Lanka, where he presented a prize to a young winner of the International “Time to Inspire” Art Competition. Through a global network of foundations and initiatives, Laureus Sport for Good continues to improve lives through the power of sport, with Sir Steve Redgrave remaining a passionate advocate for its mission.
“I have taken part in some important and exciting Laureus events, but I think being able to travel to Sri Lanka to meet young Kumara and give her this prize was one of the best moments I have had. You could see the delight in her eyes and the pride in what she had achieved.” – Sir Steve Redgrave
CROHN’S & COLITIS UK

After being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 1992, Sir Steve Redgrave became a passionate supporter of Crohn’s & Colitis UK. As an Ambassador, Steve has helped raise awareness of the condition and supported the charity’s work, including recording a special episode for the Crohn’s & Colitis UK Podcast to share his personal experience and inspire others.
“There were times when it seemed as if colitis would prevent me from reaching my goals, but with the right medical treatment, I was able to keep the illness under control and continue with my life…” – Sir Steve Redgrave
HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA CHARITABLE TRUST
Sir Steve Redgrave has proudly supported the Henley Royal Regatta Charitable Trust as a Trustee, helping the charity continue its mission. Established in 1988, the Trust provides funding and opportunities for young people in education or training to pursue rowing and sculling. Steve’s affiliation with the charity is encouraging the next generation of athletes to develop their skills and achieve their potential.

DIABETES UK

After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the age of 35 in 1997, Sir Steve Redgrave became an Ambassador for Diabetes UK. Using his platform to raise awareness and funds for diabetes research, Steve has helped challenge misconceptions surrounding the condition while encouraging others to better understand, manage and speak openly about living with diabetes.
“I decided very early on that diabetes was going to live with me, not me live with diabetes.” – Sir Steve Redgrave

THE BRITISH INSPIRATION TRUST
Sir Steve Redgrave has proudly supported The British Inspiration Trust for many years, including championing The BRIT Challenge in 2021 to support young adult mental health across the UK. Widely regarded as one of Britain’s greatest Olympians, Sir Steve has also encouraged fellow Olympic and Paralympic athletes to join the BRIT Ambassador family and help raise awareness of mental health challenges facing young people today.
“It has been my pleasure to support BRIT for many years as they have strived to support young adult mental health throughout the UK, raise vital funds and deliver inclusive opportunities for young adults to improve their mental health and fitness.” – Sir Steve Redgrave
