Dancing on Ice 2025
If anyone sees me in skates again...
As you probably know, I like a challenge. You may have also spotted an article in The Telegraph not too long ago headlined 'My knees and shoulders are shot. I’ve got arthritis. You name it, I’ve got it!’ and you would have sensibly assumed that you would find me taking on less physical challenges. And I wish you were right! But instead, for the past three months, you could find me on the ice tottering around at my new height of 6'8" in specially made skates to fit my extra wide size 12s. Ice skating! What was I thinking?
The truth is I have no idea. I've never thought of myself as rash or impulsive but maybe we all have a little of that and this is what happens when you don't think things through! But, incredibly, I am enjoying it. I am not good at it, but with the help and patience of my professional partner, Vicky Ogden, and the team on Dancing on Ice, I am enjoying the challenge and I am slowly making friends with the ice. I want to live up to Vicky's expectations after all her hard work and investment in me and I will do my best to make good account of myself.
I don't know what will happen when the show goes live but I can say with full conviction that this has been an unforgettable experience, I am forever grateful for the support of the team. And, no, I haven't regretted the decision for one second. Off to the ice now for another practice session, wish me luck!
